The Advisory Board is Universum Academy Switzerland’s governing body. Its 25 members are elected by Congress upon the President’s proposal.
Its role is to aid the Federal President in the implementation of Federal Congress decisions and to vigil on the correct enforcement of the International Statute and General Regulations.
The board can expel members and decide the Peace Trophy, Honorary Degree and Cultural Merit awardees. Lastly, it is responsible for granting patronages, twinnings, agreements and sponsorships.
The Advisory Board is made up of:
- Federal President
- Acting Vice President
- Deputy Vice Presidents
- Head of International Chancellery
- Head of Treasury
- Head of Legal Office
- Head of Press Office
- Head of Cerimonies Office
- Heads of Departments
The International Statute establishes that the Departments are the expression of specific Universum sectors (Humanitarian Projects, Intercultural relations, Internal Affairs, Social Affairs, Cultural and Environmental Heritage, Mediterranean Area, Communications).
Further departments may be opened for special organisation needs and promotion of Academy values, subject to the Presidency’s consent.
They are generally presided by a Deputy Vice President or Director and other Advisory Board members prior to their appointment.
